I’ve lost count of how many cooking and baking classes I’ve taken with Sharon. It all started with my search for a cupcake decorating class because, let’s be honest, that’s never been my strong suit. A quick Google search led me to Hobby Hill and, instead of cupcakes, I thought, macarons? Why not?
Before Sharon’s class, I had only one successful macaron attempt (probably beginner’s luck). Every other try ended in cracked, misshapen, edible abominations. But in that first class, she taught us the techniques to make them perfect. From that moment on, I was hooked.
Then came the bread classes…Greek food…Indian cuisine…Croissants… and now, after 25+ classes, I think I basically live here. Sharon’s knowledge, patience, and passion for teaching make every class an incredible experience. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned home cook, you’ll walk away with skills you can actually use—and the confidence to tackle recipes that once seemed impossible. If you’re even thinking about taking a class at Hobby Hill, do it. You won’t regret it! You'll probably see me there.....haha
I took the sourdough class and have been hooked on making it since. Sharon, the instructor was pleasant to work with. She gave instructions, walked us through the process, answered questions, and continued to follow up with us even after the class. I HIGHLY recommend. I will be going back for more lessons.
Great fun with “instructor” chef. Worth every $ and delicious cinnamon buns brought home to cook.
Sharon did a great job instructing and teaching us about gluten sourdough bread. She took us from starter to a beautiful loaf of delicious bread.
I learned so much and was surprised it was so easy. I will be taking more classes from Sharon.
Thank you so much for the review. I loved sharing time with you showing the beginning stages of making great bread. The journey has just begun and the options are so extensive. Looking forward to seeing you in more classes. Happy Baking! ~sharon
Enjoyed learning the process of making sourdough bread with a patient teacher and a fun group.
I'm so glad you had the opportunity to join us for this class. It can be a game changer. There are so many options out there that you literally could make a different bread every day for months. Maybe a new challenge for you? Let me know if you need any assistance. Happy Baking ~Sharon
I have to thank Sharon first she made thinks so easy. My first 5+ loaves weren't up to what I had hoped. No Dutch oven and working from a pan I adjusted and adjusted and kept referring to Sharon's handout. Finally did good cup and pulls and 48 hour cold fermentation. Magic happened!
