Afternoon Tea is a tea-related ritual, introduced in Britain in the early 1840s. It evolved as a mini meal to stem the hunger and anticipation of an evening meal at 8pm.
Afternoon Tea at Hobby Hill is a meal composed of sandwiches (usually cut delicately into 'fingers'), scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries and cakes. Pick your Tea and lets enjoy a relaxing meal. Seating's available for 2, 4 or 6. If you would like to meet someone new than we will be happy to make a connection.

The class was not what I had expected. The instructor was fun and energetic but perhaps too ambitious to try to make two different things (sushi and mochi) in shifts with two groups. We were basically given a recipe and told to begin with little to no demonstration. Before long it felt chaotic as everyone was a but lost. The instructor bounced back and forth between the two groups without really being able to devote any time to show us what to do. The groups switched stations with no cleanup or reset so round two was a total literal mess. The ingredients were also too few for the number of people. I think it is a nice concept. More demo, explanation and materials and fewer students would help make a better learning environment.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. While we’re glad you enjoyed the energy of the instructor, it’s clear that aspects of the class — including the format, transitions, and support — fell short.
We’ve taken your comments seriously and are actively working on adjustments to improve future classes, including smaller group sizes, clearer demonstrations, better station transitions, and ensuring all guests have the materials they need.
We always aim to create a hands-on, educational, and enjoyable experience, and we regret that this one missed the mark for you.

Instructor was knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this class to those facing gluten challenges.
Thank you Debra. So many options available in the Gluten Free arena at Culinart by Hobby Hill. Just finishing up on the Online option for our Sourdough Discard class. Perfect option for anyone who wants to take one recipe at a time. ~sharon
I surprised my wife by taking this class and it was really amazing and fun. The teacher really made it enjoyable and easy to follow. Very attentive to making sure you are doing things correctly with giving advice. I’ll be taking this class and others again for sure! Most importantly, they turned out and tasted wonderful

The class was fun, and the instructor truly went above and beyond - after the class, when I was having trouble with my dough, she told me to give her a call so we could talk things through and troubleshoot. What amazing care and patience!
