Sourdough Basics - an Introduction & Bake

Welcome to your introductory class on Sourdough.

What to expect: Attendees will take home "starter" prepared by Hobby Hill

  • Attendees will enjoy freshly baked bread in the class.
  • Attendees will take home a lame (razor) to cut your bread

What to bring: Attendees should bring a 2qt container to take freshly fed starter home and a bowl to take home your fresh made dough.

Attendees will receive directions on how to bake their bed after the Bulk rise.

Supplies to have on hand at home:

Bread Flour - King Arthur preferred

Dutch Oven with top

Parchment Paper

Sourdough Perfection

Sharon did an amazing job sharing her knowledge and techniques with making sourdough. I walked away with a strong starter, an easy to follow recipe, and hands on technique which have resulted in multiple successful sourdough loaves that have been enjoyed by my family and friends.

I’m so glad I decided to take Sharon’s class and I’m excited to continue my sourdough journey!

She walked through every step of the way with us to help ensure our first loaves would turn out great. Wonderful class

After struggling to make sourdough on my own, I discovered this class on Facebook. Boy, am I glad I did!! Sharon packs in A LOT of information/hints in this class so be prepared to listen, take notes, and learn! She shares her “tried and true” recipe and explains the complicated world of sourdough bread-making so well. She even provides her phone # for any questions after class. If you love sourdough bread, take this class! My first loaf (dough prepared in class/baked at home) pictured!
