Shrubs were a popular drink in 17th and 18th century England and America’s Colonial Era, and they are making a comeback, in a big way.
So, what exactly is a shrub? The bush growing in your yard? Yes, but that isn’t the shrub we are talking about. A shrub is a drink made with fruit, vinegar, and sugar. Shrubs are a delicious way to enjoy seasonal fruit and to quench your thirst. A shrub can be mixed with “spirits”, water or carbonated water.
We will show you how to make cold pressed and hot pressed shrubs. Working with seasonal berries and prepared vinegars we will make concentrated shrubs. Jars and bottles will be provided.
In this two (2) hour class we will also make vinegar.
